Can I use Basic Maintenance with retinol or other actives I'm currently on?
We recommend pausing other actives for 4–6 weeks and letting the system work on its own.
Retinol and vitamin C aren't bad — but they're forceful. After menopause, the skin barrier is more reactive and slower to recover. Layering aggressive actives on top of a system designed to rebuild that barrier muddies the results and slows the repair.
Give the skin a chance to settle. Then decide if anything else even needs to come back.
